Services at Our Ubon Ratchathani Branch

Select a service below for an overview, the key steps, and what to know before consulting our GFC Ubon Ratchathani team.

IVF / ICSI

IVF / ICSI Treatment

IVF and ICSI are assisted reproductive technologies where eggs and sperm are combined in the laboratory, and the resulting embryo is cultured before being transferred into the uterus.

With IVF, sperm are left to fertilize the egg naturally in a culture dish. With ICSI, a single sperm is injected directly into the egg using a fine needle under a microscope.

Suitable whenBlocked fallopian tubes, endometriosis, ovulation problems, failed IUI, or unexplained infertility
Estimated timelineOne cycle takes about 3–6 weeks, depending on the stimulation protocol, embryo freezing, and PGT-A testing
Good to know: success rates depend on age, egg and sperm quality, embryo development, uterine health, and prior treatment history.

Main steps

  1. Assessment and individualized protocol planning
  2. Ovarian stimulation monitored by ultrasound
  3. Egg retrieval, sperm preparation, and fertilization via IVF or ICSI
  4. Embryo culture with planning for fresh transfer, freezing, or genetic testing
  5. Embryo transfer followed by a pregnancy test about 10–14 days later

Risks to be aware of

  • Temporary bloating, cramping, or discomfort
  • Ovarian hyperstimulation, bleeding, or infection from egg retrieval
  • Ectopic pregnancy, miscarriage, or multiple pregnancy
IUI

Intrauterine Insemination (IUI)

IUI involves placing specially prepared and washed sperm directly into the uterus during the most fertile window, increasing the chance of sperm meeting the egg and fertilizing naturally inside the body.

Starting price15,000 THB per cycle
Procedure timeAbout 5–10 minutes; you can resume normal activities the same day
Key difference: with IUI, fertilization happens inside the body — not in the lab as with IVF/ICSI.

Who IUI suits

  • Unexplained infertility after a full assessment
  • Mild male-factor issues or ejaculation problems
  • At least one open fallopian tube
  • Sperm quality within an adequate range after preparation

Treatment steps

  1. Assess both partners and choose a natural or stimulated cycle
  2. Monitor follicle growth and time ovulation
  3. Prepare sperm and inseminate into the uterus
  4. Pregnancy test about 14 days after insemination
Assessment

Fertility Assessment

A fertility assessment starts with reviewing both partners’ history to identify factors that need testing or treatment first, using real data to choose the right approach for each couple.

The doctor will consider age, how long you’ve been trying, menstrual cycle, pregnancy or miscarriage history, existing conditions, medications, surgical history, and your family goals together.

For womenPelvic ultrasound, AMH, AFC, hormones as indicated, and evaluation of the fallopian tubes
For menSemen analysis and further testing as indicated

What to prepare

  • Start dates of your last 3–6 menstrual cycles
  • How long you have been trying to conceive
  • List of medications, conditions, and surgical history
  • Previous test results from other facilities with dates and units

What you’ll get

  • Results explained in context — no single test defines your overall chances
  • A plan for next steps, e.g. timed intercourse, IUI, IVF/ICSI, or egg freezing
Egg Freezing

Egg Freezing

Egg freezing involves stimulating the ovaries, retrieving mature eggs, and freezing them for future use — a fertility-preserving option for later in life.

Earlier assessment and freezing generally means more eggs of better quality, but there’s no single ideal age for everyone — it should be evaluated individually.

Stimulation periodTypically about 8–14 days, with follicle monitoring by ultrasound and hormone levels
Freezing methodVitrification is used for mature, good-quality eggs

Who should consider it

  • Not ready to have children now but want to keep options open
  • Risk of declining ovarian reserve
  • About to undergo treatment that may affect the ovaries
  • Planning a future sperm source

When eggs are used later

  • Thawing and ICSI
  • Embryo culture
  • Embryo transfer into the uterus
FET

Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET)

FET involves thawing embryos frozen from a previous IVF/ICSI cycle, assessing their survival, and transferring them into the uterus.

Suitable whenYou have remaining frozen embryos, are awaiting PGT-A results, or are deferring a fresh transfer from the retrieval cycle
After transferBeta-hCG testing about 10–14 days later, with continued medication as prescribed
Recovery after transfer: extended bed rest isn’t necessary — light daily activity is fine per your doctor’s advice.

Main steps

  1. Pre-cycle assessment and embryo report review
  2. Choosing an endometrial preparation method
  3. Scheduling the thaw and transfer date
  4. Thawing, embryo assessment, and transfer into the uterus

Factors affecting success

  • Age at egg retrieval, embryo stage and quality
  • PGT-A results if tested
  • Endometrial readiness and progesterone levels
Antenatal Care

Antenatal Care

Antenatal care means monitoring the health of both mother and baby from the start of pregnancy through delivery, including tracking fetal development and providing accurate health guidance throughout.

Antenatal visits help confirm the pregnancy is progressing normally, reduce the risk of complications, and ensure the baby is growing well.

When to startIdeally at 4–8 weeks of pregnancy, and no later than 12 weeks
First visitUrine test, weight and blood pressure check, blood tests, and abdominal ultrasound

Care by trimester

  • 1st trimester: confirm pregnancy, screen for infections, and date the pregnancy
  • 2nd trimester: diabetes screening, amniocentesis if indicated, and fetal growth monitoring
  • 3rd trimester: fetal movement counting, vaccinations, repeat blood tests, and fetal health assessment

Key benefits

  • Supports the mother’s physical and emotional wellbeing
  • Helps prevent and reduce pregnancy-related risks
  • Tracks the baby’s development at every stage
TVS Gynecology

Transvaginal Ultrasound (TVS)

Transvaginal Ultrasound (TVS) examines the pelvic organs — especially the uterus and ovaries — via the vaginal canal, giving a clearer image than an abdominal ultrasound.

It helps diagnose abnormalities of the uterus, uterine cavity, and ovaries, playing a role in both diagnosis and early prevention of disease progression.

What it can detectUterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, chocolate cysts (endometriomas), uterine polyps, and cervical abnormalities
SafetyUses high-frequency sound waves, no radiation, quick, and you can resume daily activities right away

Who should get tested

  • Women aged 25 and older
  • Pelvic pain or irregular periods
  • A palpable lump in the abdomen
  • Family history of gynecological conditions

How to prepare

  • Schedule at least 3 days after your period ends
  • Avoid douching or vaginal suppositories for 2 days before
  • Avoid intercourse for 1 day before
  • Empty your bladder before the exam
Counselling

Fertility Planning Consultation

A fertility consultation reviews both partners’ history and evaluates individual factors before choosing a treatment path — aiming for the approach that best fits your age, test results, family goals, and timeline.

Under 35Consult after 12 months of trying without success
35 and olderConsult after 6 months of trying — and sooner still if you are 40 or older

What’s included

  • Review of both partners’ history
  • Relevant tests selected based on indications
  • Explanation of results and their limitations
  • A plan for next steps, e.g. IUI, IVF/ICSI, or egg freezing

See a doctor sooner if you have

  • Irregular cycles or recurrent miscarriage
  • Male-factor issues
  • A treatment history that may affect fertility
